Happy hump day on what seems like the longest week ever! While part of me is happy to be back into our normal routine, I do miss having the whole family together every day. The quiet house this week also has me missing our dog again, after a brief reprieve from my grief last week. We’ve agreed to get our next dog in the spring but I have puppy fever big time!
Today, I have some stocking stuffer ideas for your little ones. While my stockings are not actually hung over the mantle this year #becausetoddler, I do love planning how I will fill them up on Christmas Eve. I don’t know what it is, but it’s probably my favorite part of Christmas shopping: finding lots of little treasures mixed in with some necessities. Maybe I love it because it’s the first thing the kids tear into on Christmas morning and it holds them off on opening other presents until Mama gets her coffee!!
Because I have a seven year old boy and an almost two year old girl, those are the ages and genders I’m focusing on but you could easily swap some of these ideas for all ages.
For my little guy:
slippers (like these)
book (We typically use the library for books for him but I sometimes like to introduce a new series by buying the first book. Check out my blog post here for chapter book recommendations for 5-8 year olds.)
Hot Wheels cars
underwear (with his favorite characters to make it more fun)
darts for Nerf guns
oranges (because it’s a family tradition in my husband’s family!)
This is a fun time to stock up on things like underwear, socks, and toiletries with your kiddo’s favorite things on them, which for my little guy right now is sharks and Pokemon.
For my baby girl:
crayons (these are the best for little hands!)
tights (H&M make the best!!)
hair brush (love these!)
baby food pouches
I hope that’s helpful. You can see from the pictures, I have some shopping to do!! What am I missing? Any other good ideas?
See you on Friday with my favorites from the week!!
