Hello, friends and TGIF! Man, this has been a long week! I think I’m in trouble because the summer temps are here and I’m already exhausted from all of the time outside. And the yardwork. So. Much. Yardwork. I hope I make it through the summer!
As always, I’m linking up with Andrea, Erika and Narci to bring you my favorites from the week!
Meet my new favorite shorts. Comfiest denim shorts ever. I have to admit, I’m typically not comfortable in jeans. I have yet to find a pair with a good amount of stretch in them to make them comfortable in just the right size. My jeans are always a little snug or a little loose. They are never just right. Never.
A good pair of denim shorts though? I absolutely love. I was in the market for a new pair this summer and couldn’t be happier with these. They’re stretchy and perfectly distressed. Plus, the hem is sewn down so it stays in place. I will probably wear them every single day this summer. The description says it’s a 2 1/4 inseam, but I don’t really feel like they’re that short. I think they’re pretty comparable to my 3 inch shorts. And while I don’t have the legs of my 22 year old self anymore, I think they’re good enough and figure at this point, it’s all down hill from here so I might as well still wear these while I can, right?
Also, I was able to pick mine up at Nordstrom Rack for a cheaper price so it might be worth your while to check there first!
And the only reason I’m able to wear shorts at this point in the season is this right here. Yes, it’s a lot more “chemically” than I prefer, but this stuff works like a charm. No smell and no streaks. I am the worst at applying sunless tanners and this stuff works like a charm. If you miss a spot, you can easily go back and reapply. I just followed all of the steps outlined by Cassie at Hi Sugarplum (here) and it actually worked! I have been using the dark and apply it about once a week. Once summer hits and I naturally get a little color on my legs from being outside all of the time, I’ll stop using it.
Over the past few weeks, I have also been looking for some sandals for my baby girl for playing in the water. I wanted something water resistant and didn’t want to pay much for them because she’ll basically just be running around at the pool and in our yard in them. I also wanted something that was sensible for an early walker. I found these at Walmart for less than $13 and really like them! They are easy for her to walk in and I can spray them off when they get dirty. They will also be perfect for a little trip to the beach we have planned for next month.
My Fitbit band broke last month and I finally got around to getting a new one. I ordered this one in the matte brown and really like it. There’s really no way to make a Fitbit look stylish but I like that the brown leather straps makes it easier to mix it with other bracelets. The color will also be perfect to coordinate with just about everything this summer.
And in case you missed it, I blogged about Healthy Snacks for Kids on Wednesday. Some are gluten free and some are not. You can see the full post here.
Have a great weekend everyone!!
