Happy Friday, friends! We’ve muddled through another cold, snowy week here in Cleveland with another few inches of snow last night. We’re trying to hang in there but we’re itching for spring! For those of you in the south, I hope you enjoy some warmer weather. For those of you in North Dakota (like my brother and sister-in-law), sorry you have another 4-6 weeks of this nonsense!
I shared on Wednesday that I’m going to be backing off of the blog a bit over the next couple of weeks but I’m going to continue to bring you my favorites on Fridays. I’m hoping a little break will give me the opportunity to spruce up the blog a bit and work on some ideas for new blog posts. I’ve been in a bit of a cooking rut and feel like I haven’t shared a new recipe in ages!
As always, I’m linking up with Andrea, Erika, and Narci to share my favorites from the week!
Last weekend, I made a new recipe by Nom Nom Paleo that one of my girlfriend’s recommended and we all loved it! The chicken turned out great and I loved the pan sauce! You can find the recipe here.
A CoreLife Eatery opened in Mentor this week and I think it’s safe to say that it’s my new favorite lunch spot. The food was so fresh and tasty and the staff were ridiculously friendly and accommodating.
I LOVED how knowledgeable they were about allergens and dietary needs, not only telling you ingredients but also warning you about cross contamination.
I had the Spicy Thai Chicken and Rice Noodles
And my little one had the kid’s power plate. I will say that if you have picky eaters, you might have a hard time finding something for your kids to eat here; however, you can customize their kids meals anyway you like. I do with they had another fruit option though besides mandarin oranges. #idontevenconsiderthemafruit
If you’re in the area, you should definitely check them out!
We also hit up our favorite story time this week, which my baby girl loved.
I spotted this book and the cover alone made me teary eyed. I love Hoda and I think this book is just beautiful!
We also picked up this book over the weekend at the library and it’s my baby girl’s current favorite. Remember Winnie from the Wonder Years? Well, she’s the author (and also a brilliant mathematician). It’s such a cute book and has totally taught my little one how to count to ten. You can find it here.
And this is my current read. I have to admit that although I love the writing style, it’s taking me a minute to get into it because I’ve been so tired lately. #iblamefivehoursofthebachelorthisweek I did enjoy a perfectly lovely afternoon yesterday though, curled up under a blanket in a quiet house while my little one was napping and before her big brother got home from school. I really try to make the effort to have a little “me time” like this during naptime at least once a week. Yes, I sometimes feel like I should be doing the “naptime hustle”–cleaning the house, doing laundry or working out, but I try not to let myself feel guilty about it and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Well that’s all I’ve got for today! Have a great weekend and I’ll see you next week!!
