Happy Friday, friends! I am so glad it’s the weekend! I have just been off this week. Our summer activities have ended and I think I’m a little blue that summer is winding down. At the same time though, I think we’re all ready to get back to a regular schedule and I think my little guy needs a break from so much time with me and his baby sister. He’s such a sweet big brother to her but he also enjoys teasing her and she doesn’t put up with it! I know it’s only just beginning with these two but I also know that she is a tough cookie and is not going to take it from him! #siblinglove
As always, I’m linking up with Andrea, Erika and Narci to share my favorites from the week.
I picked up these shoes for my baby girl on Amazon Prime day and just love them! They come in all different kinds of patterns and colors. I think they’ll be so cute with leggings and also dresses and knee socks this fall. See Kai Run is probably my favorite line of shoes for my little girl and I can typically find them at a decent price on Amazon or 6PM.com. You can also find their shoes at Nordstrom.
Speaking of Nordstrom, I popped in there this week to see what they had left from the anniverary sale and found this scarf. It doesn’t appear to be in stock online anymore but you might be able to find it in the store like I did (it was in the juniors department). I think it will be so cute with a military jacket and I love the lighter weight for early fall!
I had also ordered this jacket from the sale and it arrived this week. I have to admit, I wasn’t into it when I first tried it on. It felt like a big ol’ sack and was not nearly as cute as I was expecting. I went back and looked at the picture online though and started tightening the draw strings like it is on the model and it was suddenly much cuter! It definitely runs big and if it wasn’t for my long arms, I probably could have sized down to an x-small. I decided to stick with the small though for the sleeve length and so I could layer a sweater under it. It’s also long enough for leggings! I think you’ll find me in this with leggings, a scarf and rain boots throughout the fall!
So this is random, but it’s been a favorite all summer long…Mule 2.0 (AKA Moscow Mule in a can), my favorite pool/golf drink. Have you tried this before? It’s not as good as the real thing but it’s pretty tasty, especially over ice with a lime. And it’s gluten free! It’s perfect for those days when I want a beer but can’t have one. #becausegluten
Also, I highly recommend the golf/tennis skirt I’m wearing in this picture. I get lots of compliments on it and I think it’s super flattering! You can find it here, but make sure you check the size guide before ordering. They’re sizing is weird and I’m actually wearing it in an 2x-large!
And finally, Encyclopedia Brown has become a new favorite in our house! If you’re not familiar with them, they’re about a boy who solves mysteries from his little detective agency. Each chapter includes a little short story about a mystery and then you get to guess at the end how he solved it. The first book was published in 1963, so some of the material is a little dated (and you may have to explain some words and phrases) but they’re fun to read and my little guy loves it when he can solve the mystery!
We’re big readers around her and love reading chapter books to our little guy at bedtime. If you’re interested in checking out other chapter series we have read to him, you can find my recommendations here.
That’s it for today. I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!! See you next week with a new recipe (finally)!!
