Happy Friday, friends! Well I’ve been a slacker here on the blog this week. I mentioned last week that I’ve been struggling a bit with my blogging mojo, but I took some time this week to plan some posts out and I’m hoping to get back on track next week!
As always, I’m linking up today with Andrea and Narci to share my favorites from the week!
We had a busy weekend last weekend and I got to spend a lot of one on one time with this little guy. It’s definitely not the norm for us to have this time together these days because his baby sister is always attached to my hip so I always try to soak it in when I can.
We started our weekend at the bowling alley for a birthday party, which was his first time bowling. On Saturday, we went to a magic show by Magic Gives Back, which was amazing!! It blew his mind! If you’re in the area, you should really check them out!!
Before the magic show, we went out to dinner at Sweet Melissa and I had the Pork Belly Bowl at the recommendation of our server. It was so good and I can’t wait to recreate it at home! I have literally been thinking about it every day since I ate it! Somehow I have started to eat Brussels sprouts in my forties and I just can’t get enough of them!
On Sunday, the rain finally stopped (after raining every day for over a week) so we bundled up and went for a hike at Penitentiary Glen. It’s one of my favorite metroparks in Lake County and we had such a good time together. They’re building a new play area for kids which is scheduled to open this summer and we can’t wait until it’s finished!
While we were there, I was peeking in the new area, trying to find ways to recreate some of it in our own backyard and came across this. I’m hoping we can build something similar this summer that the kids can climb on as well as use it as a little fort.
So cute, right? It’s a really deep red so I think it will actually go with a lot. It was also on sale for 20% off!!
I also spotted this super cute blush one at Nordstrom yesterday. It also comes in navy. Love!
So that’s what we’ve been up to around here. This weekend, we have soccer and then obviously, Mother’s Day–or as I like to call it, the day my husband has to agree to do what I want to do without complaining!!
Have a great weekend and a wonderful Mother’s Day to all of you Mamas out there!!
